John Gordon

John Thomas Gordon, 67, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away peacefully at the home of his sister on February 2, 2021. He had cancer. John’s with Jesus now.

John was the son of the late John Richard and Bertha Showers Gordon. He was also preceded in death by his brother, George Wayne Gordon. He graduated from the Milton Hershey School in 1971 and had a lifetime love of horses and animals. John served four years in the United States Army in Spain working as a Veterinary Technician with service animals.

He was a gifted artist and could build anything he set his mind to. One of John’s great joys was picking out songs on his guitar.

Survivors include his sister, Margaret Gordon Abrahamian; aunt, Beverly Showers; sister-in-law, Jeannine Gordon; numerous Showers and Phelps cousins and close friends, R.L Frederick, Rick Nowell, Giles Avery and Helen Stuart, thank you for your kindness to John over the years.

John was always thankful to the VA in Martinsburg; the Front Royal Men’s Shelter; the Blessing Boxes; the Thermal Shelter and the many churches that offered food and compassion throughout his homeless years.

The family is so grateful to Blue Ridge Hospice, Dr. Milligan and Becky for providing him with so much comfort and support and giving him a happy and productive extra month of life.
