Louis Bocian
Louis Bocian ’49, 90, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at home. He was the husband to Louise M. (Holz) Bocian and the father of the late Debra A. Kerchner
Born September 8, 1931, in Lebanon, he was a son of the late Louis and Michalina (Wiesneski) Bocian. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Debra A. Kerchner and five siblings.
A retired computer systems analyst from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, he was a 1949 graduate of the Milton Hershey School and U.S. Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the Hershey Community Chorus and Hanoverdale Church. Louis was passionate about organizing and serving, having led youth mission trips and oversea chorus trips, as well as serving with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years Louise M. (Holz) Bocian; son John M. Bocian (Deborah) of Harrisburg; daughter Julie E. Stafford (Lloyd Collins) of Shippensburg; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Private service at Hanoverdale Church, 577 Hershey Road, Hummelstown with interment in the adjoining Hanoverdale Cemetery.
